ELCO EB38F6-P6AR-2500 replacement

Start with the complete model, not just 2500 PPR. GOH3806A-2500-T3 appears in our supplied cross-reference, but its exact specification has not been verified. Confirm the electrical interface and mounting before approving it for your machine.

Keep EB38F6, P6AR and 2500 together

Use the complete nameplate code EB38F6-P6AR-2500, including any additional special-version suffix. Confirm the 2500 pulses-per-revolution reference against the label and applicable original datasheet.

A listing for EB38F6-H6AR-1000, EB38F6-L5IR-1024 or EB38F6-P6PR-100 is not the same configuration. Shared family letters do not establish the same output, cable configuration or pulse count. Do not use an EB38A drawing to approve an EB38F installation.

GOH3806A-2500-T3: pairing reference, pending specification check

The supplied cross-reference pairs this original model with GOH3806A-2500-T3. That pairing identifies an option to investigate; it does not certify interchangeability, current availability or a particular delivered version.

Get the exact offered datasheet first.

We have not verified an applicable manufacturer specification for this complete candidate code. Do not transfer voltage, output, bore or mounting values from similarly named GOH38A01 or GOH38A02 products.

Check the encoder and the receiving input as a system

Gather the original and offered supply ranges, output circuit diagrams and channel functions. Then compare them with the exact controller input specification. A machine's supply voltage alone does not establish its signal input voltage or circuit type.

  • Confirm actual supply voltage, tolerances and polarity for both encoders.
  • Check the receiver's required circuit: open collector, push-pull or differential line driver are different arrangements.
  • Confirm A, B and any Z/index requirement, including inverted channels where the receiver requires them.
  • Compare operating pulse frequency and the receiver's counting convention.

Map conductors by documented function, not colour alone. Do not reuse a pinout from another suffix. Obtain the exact EB38F code table before interpreting P6AR as a complete electrical specification.

Use the original, offered and receiver documents to check the interface.

For deeper checks, see our encoder wiring guide and line-driver input guide.

Compare the actual mounting geometry

Read both exact-version drawings from a common mounting reference. Check the machine shaft and the encoder's matching geometry: bore or shaft diameter, usable engagement depth, end clearance, retention features, mounting or restraint points, and cable-exit space.

A similar body diameter or a familiar model prefix does not prove fit. Resolve every missing dimension before fitting the unit. We do not publish an assumed bore diameter, hole depth or wire assignment for this unverified pairing.

Compare usable engagement, restraint and clearance from the applicable drawings.

If your application uses a shaft-mounted encoder, the hollow-shaft selection guide explains the measurements to collect. It does not replace the exact product drawing.

2500 PPR: estimate the input workload

One channel's cycle frequency is 2500 × rpm ÷ 60. At 1500 rpm, that is 62.50 kHz. With x4 quadrature decoding, the receiver would process 250,000 counts/s. This is an arithmetic example, not a maximum speed specification.

Assumes 2500 channel cycles per revolution. Confirm the manufacturer's PPR terminology and how the receiver specifies bandwidth. Compare the result with encoder electrical response, mechanical speed and receiver limits, allowing the margin required by the applicable specification. Resolution does not establish accuracy.

Specific replacement questions

Is GOH3806A-2500-T3 confirmed as a drop-in replacement?

No. The pairing table alone does not establish that. The exact offered datasheet, original drawing, supply and receiving interface need verification before approval.

Can I substitute 1024 or 1000 PPR?

Those are different pulse counts. They change pulse-based scaling and require an approved controller or application change, rather than being an equal-resolution replacement.

Does a similar GOH38A name prove the candidate's specifications?

No. A nearby series name is not proof of identical mechanics, output or voltage range. Ask for the full offered code and its applicable drawing.

Can you quote without the old datasheet?

You can send the complete nameplate and machine requirements to start a check. Missing specifications remain unresolved until supported by suitable documents; a preliminary inquiry is not an installation approval.

Exact original and candidate electrical and mounting specifications remain required. The reviewed SENSYOR / Zhejiang Chengyao catalogue's nearby GOH38A01/A02 names do not verify GOH3806A-2500-T3.
